How to Make a Portrait and Landscape Orientation Pages in One Word File
In general, we often encounter word files that consist of one type of document orientation, from the first page to the last page, all of them are landscape oriented. By default, the orientation of Microsoft Word documents is portrait. But sometimes in one file there is text that must be typed in Landscape for example making a table with quite a lot of columns.

When encountering cases like the one above, sometimes users prefer to separate the document into two files, where the first file contains a document with portrait pages and other documents with landscape orientation. Although this method is also effective, it certainly causes separate page numbering so that it will be a hassle too later.

So of course it would be more beneficial to use a combination of two page settings (Landscape and Portrait) in one file. Can it be done? The answer is yes, and the method is not difficult.

How to Make a Portrait and Landscape Pages in One Word File

Suppose we will create a Microsoft Word file containing 3 pages with a Portrait layout, but insert a page with a Landscape layout on the 2nd page, then the following steps:
  1. Open the document that you want to edit as the title of this post. I assume the default orientation is Portrait.
  2. Place the cursor on the last page where you want to change the layout. For example, below I place the cursor on the first page (Potrait) because I want to change the next page to Landscape.

  3. Then select the Page Layout Menu -> Breaks -> Next Page. Then a new page (second page) will appear that is still Potrait.
Menu Page Layout - Breaks - Next Page
  4. After that, place the cursor on page two and change the page orientation to Landscape by selecting Page Layout Menu -> Orientation -> Landscape.

  5. Then starting from page two onwards will use Orientation Landscape
  6. If you want to use the Orientation Potrait again as I wanted to illustrate at the beginning. Simply repeat the same steps. Place the cursor on page two (on the last page you want to change the layout).
  7. Then select the Page Layout Menu -> Breaks -> Next Page.
  8. Change the Orientation Page.
  9. Results.
